Worms!  There was a lovely bug on the original version of worms (the one with no ninja ropes, or anything more powerful than a sheep)that allowed you to survive almost anything if you managed to land on a miniscule piece of land left over from an explosion. Nukes were not actually available though. The cry of iiiincomiiing! will hopefully remind you of the intro of the snes version. (And possibly the first pc version, I don't remember if it did that).
